Is Raheen House Hotel reception open 24 hours a day?

There is always a person on duty should our guests need assistance.

If you wish to upgrade your room, please feel free to request it and if we have availability, we can facilitate it for a charge.

We can arrange for a bottle of our own wine, prosecco or champagne to be delivered to the room. If you order flowers or other items to the bedroom through a third-party vendor, we can accept delivery of those items and deliver those to the room for you.

The servicing of rooms starts from 8am and finishes at around 3pm, so we would request that guests vacate their room for a period between these times and notify reception or leave the sign on the door handle if they want their rooms serviced.

If you are arriving or departing outside of the check-in/ check-out times, we can hold your luggage for you temporarily.

Not generally, but we may be able to assist for a surcharge, if required. Ask at reception and we will see if we can facilitate you.

At Raheen House Hotel we are renowned for our food. We have a number of dining options available to our guests. Check out our beverage menu and sample menus for food here. Please note that our sample menus are designed to give guests an idea of what we offer, but the menu may differ on the day.

Advance booking is recommended for dinner and lunch, and essential for afternoon tea and breakfast.

  • Breakfast is served all week from 7:30am to 10am. If you are not a hotel resident, advance booking is essential.
  • Lunch is available to residents and non-residents from 12-3 Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We accept walk-ins for lunch, but advance booking is strongly recommended.
  • Afternoon tea is available Thursday, Friday and Saturday to residents and non-residents. Advance booking essential.
  • Dinner is available from 5:00 to 9pm to residents and non-residents seven days a week. Advance booking is strongly recommended.


To avoid disappointment, booking ahead is recommended for all of the above dining options. We cannot always facilitate walk-ins as we may be fully booked

We have beautiful grounds, if you wish to take a stroll around them, but we don’t offer anything more strenuous on site! Clonmel and the surrounding areas offer a range of leisure activities, please see our Explore page for more information

No, we currently don’t offer any 24-hour services, but we do have a staff member on site 24/7 to assist guests if necessary.

Smoking is banned in all enclosed public places in Ireland and in all workplaces. As a matter of policy, Raheen House does not permit vaping inside the hotel either. Guests may smoke and vape outside in designated areas but we would request that vape cartridges, cigarette ash and stubs are disposed of in the ashtrays supplied. If you are a smoker, one of our Terrace Rooms in The Coach House might suit you, as they feature a private outdoor area where guests are permitted to smoke and vape.

Yes, we have parking spaces for 58 x cars in total (55 x marked spaces, and 3 x unmarked spaces). We also have one designated disabled space directly outside the entrance.

Yes, we use Stripe, which is a trusted payment processor for our website booking engine and vouchers. The booking engine we use on our website is Net Affinity which is one of the most widely-used and trusted hotel booking engines in Ireland. Alternatively, you can book through Booking.com, which is a trusted website for booking hotels.

The best option is to contact us by phone to make a group booking. This is to allow us to recommend the best rooms for your group, check availability for those rooms simultaneously and block off those rooms temporarily while taking the relevant booking information and confirming the booking.

If you haven’t received a booking confirmation, your booking may not have been received. Please check your Spam/ Junk folder and then contact us to confirm the booking and request a written confirmation for your records.

Yes, you may request an invoice.

Yes, you may but we will need a credit card to secure the booking and the person making the booking must be the person named on the card.

We will only take bookings from a legal adult, we will not accept a booking from someone under the age of eighteen.

Certain bookings require a non-refundable deposit, that will be offset against your final bill.

  • Weddings- a €1200 deposit
  • All Communions and Confirmations- a €100 deposit
  • Group bookings/ Functions of over fifteen people €10 per person.

Numbers for these types of bookings will be confirmed in advance, and any reductions in numbers after that date, will be charged in full.

This should be no problem. We should be able to retrieve your booking using your booking date, email address, phone number and name.

Any third-party website that we are registered with, yes. Currently, we are only registered with Booking.com and AirBnB

  • If it is a bedroom booking through one of our booking partners (Booking.com, Airbnb etc.) you should amend it using their website.
  • If you booked directly with us using our booking engine, you can amend your booking either using the booking engine or over the phone/ by email with us. Please ensure that you receive an amendment confirmation to your inbox if you are doing the amendment online. If not, please check your Spam/Junk folder, or contact us to confirm the amendment.
  • If you booked over the phone or by email, please contact us by phone or email to amend the booking. Please ensure that you receive an amendment confirmation to your inbox if you are doing the amendment online. If not, please check your Spam/Junk folder, or contact us to confirm the amendment.
  • Regarding weddings, functions, group bookings numbers will be confirmed in advance, and any reductions in numbers after that date, will be charged in full.
  • For amendments to group room bookings we reserve the right to charge any amendments as per our cancellation terms below.

Our cancellation policies differ depending on the booking and the method of booking.

  • Cancelling a bedroom booking made directly via our website or via phone/ email- we have a 48-hour cancellation policy for bedroom bookings for up to three bedrooms. If you have reserved more than two rooms this is considered a group booking, and we will require cancellation at least five days in advance so that we can sell those rooms to other guests. We will deduct 50% of the room rate from your credit card if the cancellation is not made within those timeframes, and 100% if the booking is a no-show.
  • Cancelling a bedroom booking made via Booking.com/ AirBnB- if you booked through Booking.com or AirBnB you will be required to adhere to the cancellation terms and conditions they have attached to the booking.
  • Cancelling a lunch/dinner/ afternoon tea booking for up to six people; we would ask as a courtesy that you would cancel as far in advance of the booking as possible. Different terms apply to communion and confirmation bookings. For these a non-refundable deposit will be required to secure the booking regardless of numbers.
  • For a booking between six and fifteen people we will take credit card information and- if the booking is cancelled less than 48 hours before the booking or if the party is a no-show, we will charge €10 a head to the credit card used to secure the booking.
  • For groups of over fifteen, communion and confirmation bookings, weddings. For these a non-refundable deposit will be required to secure the booking non-refundable deposits will be payable in advance of the booking date. Please see our policy on deposits Numbers for these types of bookings will be confirmed in advance, and any reductions in numbers after that date, will be charged in full.

It depends on how the booking was made, if you booked through Booking.com or AirBnB you will have to adhere to the cancellation terms and conditions they have attached to the booking. If you have booked directly, you may call us, use the booking portal on our website or email us. Please see our cancellation policy above.

No-shows will be charged in full.

If you cancel within the agreed cancellation period, you may call us to process this. Booking deposits are non-refundable.

Yes, children are more than welcome.

We have a number of rooms that are suitable for families, plus our lodge has two bedrooms and a fold-out sofa bed.

We can place a travel cot in your room should you require it for our littlest guests, but we would ask that you bring your own bedding for the cot. If you need assistance with anything else, please let us know.

Our house and gardens are a wonderland for children, but we do require a responsible adult to supervise children on the premises and grounds.

Yes, we have a changing table in the Ladies toilets in Cobden’s Function Room.

As Raheen House Hotel is an old building, and the original door frames within the house and bedrooms may not be accessible to some wheelchair users. We do not have a lift on the premises, but we do have a number of ground-floor bedrooms. You should enquire as to the accessibility of the bathrooms prior to booking if you need an accessible shower/bath.

We have one designated space for wheelchair users/ those with disabilities at the main entrance to the hotel. The majority of our remaining parking spaces are a short distance from the hotel. The closest spaces to the entrance are in front of the main door.

Yes, we have two bars. The Buffalo Bar, off the lounge and Cobden’s Bar, in our function room.

Please note that our bars are not open to the general public, and are only for the use of dining guests, guests attending a wedding or function or residents.

The Buffalo Bar is open from 12:00 noon each day and closes at 11:30pm (23h30) Sunday to Thursday, and 12:30am (24h30) on Friday and Saturday. The bar in Cobden’s function room is only open if there are diners in the room, or if there is a function or other event taking place.

For weddings and other functions bar extensions are required for service outside of these hours, except for residents.

We are fully licenced to hold civil ceremonies on the premises and grounds and you can have your civil or secular ceremony in a variety of beautiful locations. Clonmel Town is situated in a valley, and Raheen House is nestled at the foothills of the Comeragh mountains. There are beautiful views at the back of the property, and we overlook the River Suir at the front of the hotel. Many of our rooms also enjoy views of our beautiful mature gardens.
